Managed Product Search

Feature: Managed Product Search

Environment: Advantage (ver. 23.1.100.062 or later)

Function: Managed Product Codes can be entered directly into project windows.

Purpose: To simplify the process of adding inventoried products to projects.

How it works:

For Hardware:

The Product Search field will accept any Managed Product Code for a hardware product. The system will then open the Hardware Worksheet with the product details automatically populated, including Finish, Options, and Property values. Note: Handing is not included as this is pulled from the opening.

For Doors:

The Product Search field will accept any Managed Product Code for a door product. The system will then populate the attributes with the values from the Managed Product. Note: Preps, Parts, and Handing are not included as these are generated from the Hardware Set and Opening.

For Frames:

The Product Search field will accept any Managed Product Code for a frame component product. The system will then populate the attributes with the values from the Managed Product. Note: Description, Preps, Parts, and Handing are not included as these are generated from the Hardware Set and Opening.

Limitations:

This function only allows for the use of Managed Product Codes. Entering a Product Code for non-managed items will result in an informational message indicating that a Product with that Product Code cannot be found.

The Managed Product Code must be of the same product type as the product code field into which it is being entered. Entering a door product code into the hardware product code field will result in an informational message indicating that a product with that Product Code cannot be found.
