Sorting the Report Information

The sort settings determine how the report data is sorted at the time of report generation. The first line item listed in the Sort pane is the primary sorting data and displays as the first column on the report. The second line item listed is the secondary sort order, the third line item is the tertiary sort order, etc. See the table below for an example of the sort order relationships.

Mfg Code Product Sort Catalog Number
Mfg Code A Product Sort 1 Catalog Number 2
Mfg Code A Product Sort 2 Catalog Number 1
Mfg Code A Product Sort 2 Catalog Number 2
Mfg Code A Product Sort 3 Catalog Number 2
Mfg Code B Product Sort 1 Catalog Number 1
Mfg Code C Product Sort 1 Catalog Number 2
Mfg Code C Product Sort 2 Catalog Number 1
Table 1: Example Sort Order

The sort by values are sorted alphabetically e.g. if the first line item is Mfg Code, the report will sort the list by manufacturer code in alphabetical order. If there are no sortable values, the Sort pane remains blank.
