How to: Meet the door & frame schedule data table requirements

Understanding Data Table Requirements
Your excel file must meet the requirements below for Comsense to successfully read and import the data into the system. Before exporting as a Text (Tab delimited) (*.txt) file, review the requirements and address any issues.
Required Fields
To successfully import a door and frame schedule, each opening line item must include:
- Opening number
- Opening type
- Quantity
Headers
- Must have one header row
- To correct: Delete header rows that you do not require for importing
- Must fit on a single line (no text wrap)
- To correct: Expand the column width to fit the header text
- Never leave a header cell empty
- Never separate width and height measurements
- To correct: Include both size and width in one column (see: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/concatenate-function-8f8ae884-2ca8-4f7a-b093-75d702bea31d)
- Never use symbols or punctuation marks
- Never duplicate column headers
- To correct: Include specific titles on any words that are repeated
Cell Data
- Must fit on a single line (no text wrap)
- To correct: Expand the column width to fit the header text (see: Headers)
- Must not be above character limits in Table 1
*Note: EDI with some manufacturers may have lower character limits than shown below. Always confirm character limits with the manufacturer if you are unsure.

Catalog Product and Option Codes | 1024 Characters |
Door & Frame Architect Type | 12 Characters |
- Must have one column representing size
- To correct: Choose opening size or leaf size (usually leaf size)
- Must measure in feet and inches with no letters or punctuation marks
*Note: You can update the cell contents after importing the .txt file into Comsense Advantage.
- Never merge cells
- If a merged cell represents the required data, Delete the merged cells and Add a column to represent the data
- Never leave an entire data row blank
- Never leave a cell in the first data row blank
- To Correct: Add content to the empty cell and Delete the content after importing the .txt file
