Hardware Preps – Hinges

All hinge preps for doors and frames are now based on a quantity of one each. This has been done to match the pricing method in Pioneer’s price book. When building hardware sets and you set the door size 3070 or 3080, the system will still load a quantity of 3 hinges for a 70 door and 4 hinges for a 3080 door.
NOTE: Old hinge preps have been made obsolete but they will still be available on projects where they have been used. New projects will only see new hinge preps.

Here are couple of examples of preps entered directly into the door takeoff prep window. Preps used are highlighted above

1. 500HW hinge with High Frequency Hinge (HFH) on top hinge only
500HW user must enter quantity required             HFH is a single prep and default quantity will be '1'
mceclip2.png
2. 500HW hinge with High Frequency Hinge (HFH) on all hinges
500HW user must enter quantity required            HFH is a single prep that user must enter a quantity for
Even though the prep indicates that HFH is required on all hinges the user still needs to enter a quantity
This could be '3' or '4' or even '5'. If a quantity isn't entered and order entry staff don't pick up on the description you could end up with a reinforcement on the top hinge only.

Door Types

Door types have been completely overhauled and narrowed down to a quantity of 23.
All doors with vision lite kits or cutouts are priced as a “FLUSH” door and will require the user to select a prep to correspond to the door type entered.

NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT SELECT A PREP YOU WILL ONLY BE PRICING FLUSH DOORS. DOOR LITES HAVE BEEN SEPARATED INTO THREE DIFFERENT TABLES.

Borrowed Lites

Per the price book, preconfigured pricing for borrowed lites is not available. Prices shown in the price book are for estimating reference only, as the products should be configured using Cut and Notch pricing. Accordingly, we've made our preconfigured borrowed lites "Call for Pricing" and encourage users to build their borrowed lites with the Elevation tool in order to get proper pricing.

TROUBLE FINDING PREPS

There are two methods of searching.
1. Prep Selection By Group
2. Prep Selection By Description
I will explain Prep Selection By Description because it will look through all frame preps/parts or all door preps/parts depending where you are in the takeoff schedule in Advantage

*Sections of this screen shot have been cropped out in order to fit into this article.

                                                                                                                           Search_Options.png

If you have difficulty finding a prep or part, using this method will narrow down and shorten the time spent looking for them.

In the white bar above Full Description in the header bar enter %SEARCH%. This can be a single word or more but must be part of the prep/part description and must match exactly. Search parameters must begin and end with %. The results of my search are populated below. You can also search Short Desc if you know what the code is.
