About the Warehouse Location Assignment Window

Purpose

The Warehouse Location Assignment window is a new window in Enterprise that allows you to assign multiple products to a warehouse location at one time. You may require this function when you:

  • Migrate to Comsense from an existing ERP software
  • Acquire a new warehouse
  • Move products from one warehouse to another

Functions

The top pane of the Warehouse Location Assignment window lists all the warehouses you have access to. The Warehouse Location pane lists the warehouse locations within a warehouse as separate line items. The Warehouse Area and Count of Products are info-only fields.

The bottom pane of the Warehouse Location Assignment window lists all products currently assigned to the selected warehouse location.

*Note: Count of Products is the count of different product types rather than inventory amount in the warehouse.

The Warehouse Location Assignment window is linked to all managed products in the system and automatically updates the Product Master window information when you add products to a warehouse. When you add product(s) to a warehouse in the Warehouse Location Assignment window, the system:

  • Sets this warehouse location as primary if the product does not have a primary warehouse location
  • Sets the warehouse location as an active location for the product
  • Sets the product as a stock item

Each product line item in the Warehouse Location Assignment window shows other warehouse location assignments and the primary warehouse location.

*Note: The Warehouse Location Assignment window is only for assigning products to warehouses. You cannot make changes to product status, safety quantity, estimated lead time etc. in this window.
